WHO WE ARE
The Youth Ministers’ Network is an association of employed and volunteer youth minister called to serve the needs of youth ministry in the parishes and communities of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. HISTORY
The Youth Ministers’ Network began in the St. Paul/Minneapolis Archdiocese in the spring of 1982 by a group of youth ministers who were seeking to address “unmet needs” of youth ministers in the archdiocese. The early meetings focused on the need
- to create a network for those who serve youth in ministry
- to advocate for the justice issues within the profession of youth ministry (employment, job descriptions, professionalism)
- to provide support, training, and professional development for youth ministers in the archdiocese.
The first YMN meeting was held on May 7th, 1982 at the Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis.
